Do you long for one of the flash new smarty-pants phones? But are loath to abandon the multi-hundred pound investment you made in your existing phone?

Despair not. You can get cash for your old phone. You just need to find a mobile phone buyer that will give you cash for your existing phone. The better your old phone, the more moolah you get. Yay!

BTW, have you wondered what happens to old mobile phones? Apparently, the vast majority moulder away in old wardrobes until they mutate into rabid land amoeba that will take over the planet in 2105. But that’s of no concern now. The phones sold to recyclers will either be flogged off to the third world (Africa, South America, Watford), broken up for parts or, if it’s a high value phone, traded on eBay. (If you do have a pretty flash phone, I’d sell it on eBay and cut out the middle person). But for ordinary middle-aged phones, recyclers are a pretty good option.

Cool. Now you can go out and hunt down one of those smart phones. Wikipedia tells us that a ‘smart phone’ has ‘PC-like functionality’ and ‘advanced capability’. I like Wikipedia, it’s very helpful. In 28 different languages. Though it’s not always accurate. Like, it says my continued donations keep Wikipedia running! Which they don’t.

Sooooo, what can you do with a smart phone? Loads, apparently. You can work for a month – being able to view most office documents. You can burn calories – ‘Walk ‘N’ Play’ is a new piece of software available from Apple’s ‘App Store’. You can become a smarter and better student – heck, you can even make calls and send texts! You may never need another piece of information technology.

Best of all, a smart phone is the socially acceptable way to show that you are bored. No more standing there with your hands in your pockets while some bore drones on and on interminably. Just whip out the blackberry and start playing with it, and your message will get through. I mean, if it’s good enough for the New York State Senate majority leader, then it’s good enough for you.
